Chris J. Laurent
Wisconsin Market President

Chris Laurent is responsible for planning and executing Gorman & Company's affordable and market-targeted communities in Wisconsin. Chris and his colleagues work diligently to make sure that Gorman & Company's community partners – mayors, alderpersons, planning departments, businesses, housing finance agencies, and neighborhood stakeholders – have their needs addressed to the greatest extent possible by fully leveraging the firm's and its consultants' abilities.

Chris started as project manager for a residential real estate development firm in 1993 and joined Gorman & Company in 2003. He was previous director of tax legislation and policy with the National Council of State Housing Agencies in Washington, DC, and manager of multifamily development at the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA), where he was responsible for Wisconsin's allocation of federal Housing Credits and WHEDA's $100 million direct multifamily lending program. His diverse experience supports Gorman & Company's commitment to better understanding issues from all sides of the development process.

Chris earned his degree from the University of Wisconsin. He currently serves as president of the Board of Directors of Porchlight, Inc., the leading nonprofit provider of services and housing for otherwise homeless people in Dane County, and was appointed by the mayor to serve on the long-range planning committee for the Madison Community Development Authority and its ad hoc TIF policy committee. Chris serves on the boards of Milwaukee’s West End Development Corporation, Madison’s Tenant Resource Center, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago’s Affordable Housing Program Committee. He lives in Madison with daughters Jordan and Emma.
