Gorman Project Pullout Is A Loss
The Capital Times, March 4, 2006
Dear Editor:
After a year and a half of meetings, presentations to the neighborhood, revised plans and countless e-mails, it looks as though we are losing our chance to really affect the near east side.
I was part of the neighborhood planning process for the proposed development on the Don Miller site at 800 E. Washington Ave. I was impressed by Gary Gorman's thorough process and visionary design.
This is a loss for the whole city. If we want a great city, we have to take a few risks. Right now, all we have are parking lots, car washes and oil change places. Is this what we want to greet city visitors with?
