Gorman To Renovate Red Brick School
Wisconsin State Journal, March 14, 2006
OREGON - A proposal by Gorman and Co. to buy and
renovate the Red Brick School was chosen by the Oregon School District's
Building Committee and will go to the School Board for consideration
Monday.
Developer Gary Gorman and Ray Mandli, president of Mandli Communication,
each submitted proposals to buy the building. Gorman has proposed
buying the building to use as his company's corporate office with
35 to 40 full-time employees.
The school, built in 1922, is at 220 N. Main St., a few blocks
north of the village's downtown and adjacent to Netherwood Knoll
Elementary and the School District office.
The committee also recommended that Gorman be given 45 days to
work out a contract with the district, said Andy Weiland, the district's
business manager. Committee members felt Gorman was closer to implementing
his plans, Weiland said.
